What you will actually be trading in at Tickmill
Screenshots age faster than anything else a broker publishes, so this page ignores them and keeps four things that decide how the account feels to use: which terminals Tickmill Europe Ltd (Cyprus, CySEC CIF 278/15) supports, whether a program can drive it, which orders you can place, and whether the demo you learn on runs out. It is the only page here re-read every month rather than every quarter.
Which entity this line-up belongs to
Applies to the European entity. Everything you trade in here is MetaTrader — Tickmill Europe runs no terminal of its own, and its own mobile app is account administration rather than a trading platform: the broker describes it as somewhere to "open and manage trading accounts, deposit and withdraw funds, and access support". Two things this check did not establish. No retail API is documented anywhere on the European site — its own search returns nothing for "API" while finding the MetaTrader pages, and the only FIX mention sits on the white-label partner page, which is an institutional arrangement rather than client access. And the MT5 page advertises "6 pending order types" without listing them, so the order types here are only the ones the client agreement names outright. The demo clock is an inactivity timer, not a term: seven days without a login, reset by every login.
Which trading platforms does Tickmill support?
MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, MetaTrader WebTrader (MT4/MT5 in the browser). The MetaTrader build is the part worth noting: it is the same terminal dozens of brokers run, so the habits and any automated strategies you build on it move with you.
- MetaTrader 4
- MetaTrader 5
- MetaTrader WebTrader (MT4/MT5 in the browser)
“Trading is more accessible than ever with our MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 WebTrader platforms. It's the same MT4 and MT5 platforms that you're used to, but now available directly in your browser.”
Order types Tickmill lists
- Take Profit (T/P)
- Stop Loss (S/L)
- Limit orders
- Buy Stop
- Sell Stop
“CFD Orders are executed as: Take Profit (T/P) orders are executed at the first available market price; Stop Loss (S/L) orders set for lock positions are executed at the first available market price; Limit orders are executed at the first available market price; Buy Stop and Sell Stop orders for position opening are executed at the first available market price.”
Does Tickmill have a demo account, and does it expire?
Yes, and it lapses only if you leave it alone. Tickmill Europe Ltd (Cyprus, CySEC CIF 278/15) closes a demo after 7 days with no login — the clock resets every time you sign in, so it survives as long as you keep using it.
“Please be informed that if there are no login attempts made into your MT4 Demo account within 7 days or MT5 Demo account within 7 days, it will expire. Valid logins must be performed from Terminals using Master password. Logins using Investor passwords are not considered valid.”
